Abstract
In November 2025 and March 2026, ai@cam worked with Hopkins Van Mil to convene public dialogues with Cambridgeshire residents to explore their expectations, hopes, and concerns regarding the use of AI in local government. This full report presents the findings from both phases of the dialogue, building on the interim results published in December 2025.
This report presents the full findings from ai@cam’s public dialogue on AI in local government, drawing on two phases of engagement with Cambridgeshire residents conducted in November 2025 and March 2026.
The dialogues were designed and delivered by Hopkins Van Mil and explored public expectations, hopes, and concerns about the role of AI in local public services.
The findings continue to inform ai@cam’s Local Government AI Accelerator and offer a framework for councils seeking to deploy AI in ways that earn and maintain public trust.
