Biography

Dr. Arjuna Sathiaseelan is a Visiting Fellow and Technical Lead at the Frugal AI Hub, Cambridge Judge Business School, and CEO & Co-Founder of Flipped.ai. Previously, he directed the Networking for Development (N4D Lab) at the University of Cambridge’s Computer Laboratory, focusing on connecting the next three billion internet users. He is also the founder of Saving Voices, an initiative to preserve indigenous languages through AI voice models. He founded and chaired the IRTF Global Access to the Internet for All (GAIA) research group and served on the Internet Research Steering Group. He has advised organisations including the UN Foundation’s $75 million Digital Impact Alliance. He is also a member of the Center for Science and Policy (CSaP) and the Cambridge Big Data initiative.He holds a PhD, MSc in Computing and Internet Systems from King’s College London, and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from NIT Trichy, India. He is a recipient of the King’s International Impact Award (2026) from Kings College London and the Young Alumni Achiever Award from NIT Trichy (2016)
